most significant battles throughout history

1. Yorktown- was the ending point of the American revolution
2. Gettysburg- was the turning point for the union in the civil war
3. Pearl Harbor- was what got the u.s. involved in world war 2
4. Bombing of Japan- Ended would war 2
5. Fall of Constantinople- the once trading capital fell down
6. Battle of Plataea- ended the persian wars (which weaking the greece empire)
7. Summer of 1842- ended the First Opium War, china started trade with Britian
8. Battle of the Alamo- gain Texas and west coast
9. Battle of Five Forks- weaked the Confederate (Lee's) army, cause them to surrender
10. Battle of the Bulge- weaked nazis, soon ended the war

Obama dictator

I think Obama is not trying to be a dictator because he is not trying to take control of the economy or the media to get more power.

Poor economy- no because our economy is not poor right now.

control of media- no, stations post both pos. and neg. stories about him.

colt of personality- no, he does not try to get us to think of him as a god or a second father nor edu. to turn us onto his group.

Laws to become more powerful- no, we have checks and balances

eliminating other political powers- no, we have checks and balances

use propaganda- yes, to get votes, but so does other politicians

no free speech- no, have free speech

secret police- yes, FBI, CIA

blame other countries for problems in own country- yes, blame china for inflation, middle east for gas prices

nationalism- yes, republican and democratic

use religions to advantage- no, doesn't mention religion

powerful speaker- yes, got elected

tried to increase country's size- no, no mention of increasing

promised better times- yes, but all politicians do

rose to power legally- yes, got elected

military background- no, did not serve

poor background- no, no poverty

not successful in school- yes, was successful

overall analysis- Not a Dictator, not trying to get more power

Bad economy, great speaker, served in military, took control of media, special police, eliminating all ravels, setting up laws to insure power,and no freedom of speech.

poor economy- people are willing to give up rights for a better future

control of media- newspaper, radio, etc.

developed a colt of personality-  leaders were like perfect, gods, etc.

use eduction to convince young people to join group

pass laws to add power- convince people to change laws

eliminating other political powers

use propaganda

no free speech

secret police

blame other countries for problems in own country

use nationalism

use religions to advantage

powerful speaker

tried to increase country's size
